We are currently tendering for works in the Rockhampton Region and are seeking expressions of interest from experienced professional environmental officers / advisors / consultants with experience in the road construction / maintenance industry. Join us for a period of 1–2 years, with possibility of extensions and future projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide timely, efficient, consistent, innovative and compliant environmental services to avoid unnecessary delays to construction programs.
* Manage resources and funds to meet program needs.
* Ensure the program achieves compliance with legislation and internal processes while identifying areas for improvement that could result in better program deliverables.
Mandatory Requirements
* Degree in Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* 2–3 years relevant industry experience on green or brownfield infrastructure construction projects, with at least a year of working directly or indirectly on TMR Roads Infrastructure Projects, or with councils or other Australian Road Authorities.
* Demonstrated experience in desktop and field surveillance and monitoring, data collection, collation and analysis.
* Planning, conducting and closing out of field audits described in Environmental Management Plans to Australian industry standards.
* Previous working experience in erosion and sediment control on linear transport infrastructure projects, familiarity with International Erosion Control Association (IECA) Best Practice Erosion and Sediment Control and Department of Environment and Heritage Protection Standard Work Method Statement for the Assessment of Lawful Releases to Waters from Construction Sites, and ability to liaise, consult and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Hours: 36–40 per week, some weekend work may be required. The role is Rockhampton region based with potential work away in regional or remote locations. Preference given to candidates already living in the region or willing to relocate; FIFO/DIDO will be considered.
