The position is based in Palmerston.Context StatementManingrida Community College is located in a large Aboriginal community, offering education from preschool to senior years, and services to Homeland Learning Centres. The college includes various programs and teams focusing on Indigenous languages and culture.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage receipting, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and purchase orders, advising staff on policies and processes.Manage and record accounting, budgeting, and financial processes in accordance with departmental policies, collaborating with the Business Manager.Provide accurate financial reports and advice to Principals, School Council, staff, and external agencies.Offer financial support and training to administrative staff for effective school management.Assist with payroll, BAS returns, PAYG tax, and superannuation legislation compliance.Help develop and administer school policies related to finance.Oversee repairs and maintenance of school facilities and equipment under contract, following procedures for various repair types.Selection CriteriaEssentialKnowledge, experience, and skills in accounting, budgeting, and financial processes.Ability or capacity to learn applications like Excel, online banking, payroll, and financial systems such as CiAnywhere.Experience in administration support, records management, HR, financial management, procurement, and auditing.Effective communication and interaction skills with staff, councils, and team members across locations.Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, problem-solve, and work under pressure.DesirableQualification in Business or Accounting.
