Job Title
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Radiation Oncology Centre in the beautiful Noosa region and our Buderim clinic located centrally on the Sunshine Coast.
Job Description
As a key member of our nursing team, you will provide excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met. This includes providing education, wound management, and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
You will be responsible for effectively managing patients that are seen each day, facilitating effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists, and radiation therapists, and providing feedback and up-to-date information regarding patients.
You will also ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated, and actioned, monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards, and use ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.
Additionally, you will demonstrate reliability, motivation, and flexibility, and be required to travel to our Noosa and Buderim clinic.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience (preferred)
* Background in oncology nursing, but not essential; training in radiation oncology nursing will be provided
* Exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement including the NSQHS
* Commitment to continuing professional development
* Experience in wound care management
