Job Title: Specialist - Orthopaedic Surgeon

About the role:
The GV Health Orthopaedic department provides services for both adults and children with orthopaedic conditions including; upper and lower limbs elective orthopaedic problems, major joint replacements and general adult and paediatric orthopaedic trauma and emergencies.
In this role you will provide, supervise and be responsible for the provision of clinical duties within the department.
This includes inpatient care, pre and post operative, outpatient care and supporting the fracture clinics.
As the Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon, this position:
Offers a full time or part time opportunity
Is open to applicants with early career experience or working towards obtaining fellowship
Requires active contribution to the education and training of junior medical staff in the Orthopaedic and surgical disciplines
Has flexible rostering to support Orthopaedic Surgeons who may be commuting
Offers staff specialists access 20% clinical support time and full CME support
Teaching opportunities:The Rural Clinical School is located at the University of Melbourne adjacent to GV Health's main campus on Graham Street.

Successful candidate will:
Have eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA and hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons with recognised qualifications in Orthopaedic Surgery or candidates who have undergone a RACS college assessment that are substantiality comparable
Participate in clinical practice audits.
Demonstrating an open attitude to constructive educational and practice improvement dialogue about such cases
Assist with supervision and student support
