Position Information
Nestled in the vibrant inner west of Sydney, Leichhardt Public School is on Wangal and Gadigal land and has an enrolment of 530 students across 20 mainstream classes and 3 multi-stage support unit classes.
The role will involve the planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised learning and support programs for students in our Multi-Stage Support Unit, in collaboration with School Learning and Support Officers (SLSOs), families and school leadership, in line with Department of Education policies, procedures and inclusive education practices.

Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching Special Education for students with a variety of disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder and mild and moderate intellectual disabilities, including examples of demonstrated ability to plan enriched, differentiated and individualised learning programs.
* Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with examples demonstrating ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues, parents, carers, school learning support officers, Allied Health professionals and other support agencies and the wider school community
* Demonstrated quality classroom practice, with examples demonstrating highly developed management skills, promotion and modelling of emotional co-regulation, and enhanced student engagement.
* Demonstrated ability to build and contribute to a positive school-wide culture, including examples of wellbeing practices and a capacity to make a broader contribution to whole-school activities.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
