Position Summary
The Phlebotomy Collections Trainer is responsible for maintaining high standards of collection services across multiple sites by delivering effective training, supporting staff development, and promoting continuous improvement. This role includes designing and implementing training programs, providing operational and administrative support, monitoring performance, and addressing areas for improvement to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance within Alfred/Monash Shared Pathology Services and Western Health laboratories and collection centres. The trainer also assists the Pathology Collection Team Leader in coordinating daily collection services to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality inpatient and outpatient services.
About You
- Certificate III or IV in Pathology Collections
- Certified CPR (desirable)
Experience And Skills Required
- At least 4 years’ experience in a similar supervisory and leadership role.
- Basic First Aid skills.
- Current hands-on skills in specimen collection in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Demonstrated experience in staff training and competency assessments.
- Demonstrated people management skills.
- Valid full drivers licence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous experience with the iPM, Cerner PathNet Millennium system (desirable).
- Experience managing teams across multiple sites (desirable).
