**About the role**
The **Employee Relations Specialist **role at Activ reports to the **Employee Relations Manager**. Together they will develop and implement strategies to improve Activ's employee relations outcomes and respond to industrial relations matters.
This role will also provide specialist, compliant and trusted employee relations/industrial relations support, advice and coaching to leaders and the HR Business Partnering team, along with partnering with Business Services to ensure Activ is complying with its employment obligations, with a specific emphasis on supported employment
**A typical day in the role may look like **
- Providing support to the HR and management team to ensure compliance with Activ's employee relations and related obligations.
- Be the key contact for business services in the role out and establishment of compliance improvement initiatives.
- Providing specialist employee relations advice.
- Providing training and advice to Employment Coordinators to ensure compliance with Activ's legal and organisational commitments.
- Providing specialist employee relations advice.
- Assist in responding to complex industrial relations issues.
- Assist in developing procedures and tools to improve Activ's employee relations outcomes in line with its strategic path.
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop strong working relationships across all levels of a business.
- Highly developed critical thinking capabilities, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience with working both autonomously and in a team environment
- Well-developed report writing skills with experience writing policies, procedures, board papers and submission requests.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Previous experience facilitating training sessions, coaching sessions and mentoring staff is desirable
- Tertiary qualification in HR, ER or a related discipline
- National Police Clearance and/or NDIS worker screening check.
