Job Title: Local Controller
The Local Controller oversees the operational management of an SES unit to ensure it maintains the capability to respond to emergency and disaster operations.
This role entails ensuring members have the necessary skills and that equipment is maintained to an appropriate standard, thereby enabling effective response and recovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Management
* Manage recruitment, selection, training, and career development of SES volunteers within a unit.
* Oversee facilities, fleet, information and communication technology, major and minor plant, equipment, and communications systems to meet operational requirements.
Priorities & Performance Indicators:
* Ensure timely completion of key tasks and projects related to SES unit management.
* Maintain positive working relationships with Local Government and provide regular reports/updates as requested.
* Develop and implement public relations and education programs at the local level that promote community resilience and self-sufficiency.
Requirements:
* Eligibility to apply for or hold a current Blue Card.
* Active membership or ability to become an active member of SES.
* Australian citizenship, residency, or lawful employment in Australia.
