We are looking for a Full Time Housing Officer to join the team This is an Aboriginal Identified position, please only apply if you identify as Aboriginal.

The IAC is a nationally registered Aboriginal Community Housing Provider ('ACHP') and delivers social and affordable housing and supported housing programs that assist Aboriginal people within the Illawarra and surrounding areas in creating pathways to securing sustainable tenancies.

We are looking for a Housing Officer to join the housing team and provide professional, high-quality property and tenancy management support to our tenants. The Housing Officer's role is to manage the tenancy lifecycle and assist tenants in sustaining their tenancies. The Housing Officer will liaise with our Going Home Staying Home team, other IAC departments, and external agencies to develop the best possible solutions to meet the ongoing needs of our tenants. This is a full-time ongoing position.

The successful candidate will have:

* Recognised qualification in Housing, Community Services, Social Work, or a relevant related area, or substantial demonstrated practical experience
* Proven experience working in residential tenancy and property management
* Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act 2010 and relevant legislation
* Well-developed written & verbal communication skills
* Strong understanding and proven ability to engage with the local Aboriginal Community
* Knowledge and understanding of current social housing management practices and principles
* Experience working with other community groups, services, agencies, and government departments
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong computer skills including database entry, word processing, and Microsoft Office
* Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Mandatory requirements: current NSW Driver's licence, Working with Children Check, National Criminal Police Check
