About the role

The role of Assistant Director in the Darwin Local Network Office leads a team to support and strengthen the health and aged care systems across the Northern Territory. The role actively builds partnerships with stakeholders to broker solutions and drive program outcomes, while maintaining strong knowledge of relevant systems, policies, and local operating environments. It represents the department in engagements with service providers, consumers, the NT Government, and other Commonwealth agencies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. The role monitors program performance, identifies emerging risks, implements mitigation strategies, and supports aged care providers to maintain service continuity, particularly during emergency events.

Requirements

* Baseline (Protected, Highly Protected, Restricted, Confidential)
* Travel within the NT, including remote locations, and interstate is expected.

* Analyses information critically to identify, assess and manage risk, providing clear insights and recommendations to support decision making and organisational accountability.
* Collaborates and contributes constructively, working independently when required while also engaging effectively within teams and across the broader departmental environment, modelling the APS Values and Code of Conduct.
* Exercises sound judgement under broad direction, taking initiative to resolve issues, progress work, and deliver outcomes with a high degree of autonomy.
