The Opportunity
Our client has exciting opportunities for Apprentice Transmission Lineworkers to undertake a Certificate III in ESI Transmission Overhead over a four-year program which will enable you to obtain industry skills and knowledge under the supervision of qualified and experienced professionals, while also attending TAFE to complete your certification.
The location for the apprenticeship will be project dependent across Newcastle/Hunter, Central West and Sydney regions. During your apprenticeship you will provide support for teams where travel and living away from home is a requirement; in this case a generous Living Away From Home Allowance (LAHA) will be provided. For the foreseeable future, current projects require candidates to be willing to work on a roster of 20 days on, 8 days off.
Role Responsibilities
* Construct, maintain and repair overhead assets to agreed network standards
* Operate and use plant, equipment and tools associated with the construction and maintenance of the network
* Installation and maintenance of overhead transmission conductors and cables
* Inspect overhead structures and electrical apparatus
* Test and verify transmission overhead installations
* General duties such as yard work, groundwork at job sites, administration, traffic control (where trained) and warehouse activities
What We're Looking For
We want team players who are enthusiastic, hands‐on, and ready to learn. You'll succeed in this role if you:
* Have undertaken a pre‐apprenticeship qualification (Certificate II Electrotechnology) which will benefit your application, but is not essential
* The ability to work at heights is essential, as well as the capacity to undertake frequent travel / work away from home during your rostered days on
* Hold a current Australian Drivers Licence (manual preferred)
* White Card / Construction Induction Card (currently hold or willing to obtain)
