OutSystems Technical Leads x 2 – Anywhere in Australia Permanent or Contract
PhoenixDX is expanding rapidly and is looking for experienced OutSystems Technical Leads to join a uniquely supportive, learning‑driven team working on some of the largest and most complex OutSystems systems in APAC. These roles are based in Australia, can be permanent or contract, and whilst Australian citizenship is preferred, we are open to applicants who hold valid Australian working holiday visas as well as citizens and permanent residents. If you love solving hard problems, care about real‑world impact, and want to grow quickly in a high‑trust, people‑first environment, this role is for you.
What you'll lead
* Lead end‑to‑end delivery of large, mission‑critical OutSystems solutions for major Australian enterprises and government agencies, from concept to ongoing optimisation.
* Guide a cross‑functional squad of OutSystems developers, architects and testers, setting technical direction and ensuring engineering quality, performance and maintainability.
* Shape PhoenixDX's reputation as one of APAC's most experienced OutSystems partners by tackling some of the largest and most complex OutSystems estates in the region.
What you'll do
* Own solution design and technical leadership for OutSystems projects, including architecture, integration patterns, performance tuning and secure, scalable implementation.
* Work closely with customers to translate business problems into robust OutSystems solutions, leading workshops, refining backlogs and providing clear, practical guidance to stakeholders.
* Coach and mentor OutSystems developers at all levels, lifting capability across coding standards, reusability, testing practices and DevOps automation.
* Collaborate with PhoenixDX MVPs and senior architects to solve hard technical challenges, de‑risk complex deliveries and contribute to internal frameworks and accelerators.
* Support pre‑sales and discovery activities where needed, helping shape scopes, estimates and roadmaps that set projects up for success.
What you bring
* Strong hands‑on experience designing and delivering complex applications on the OutSystems platform, ideally across multiple clients or large‑scale programmes.
* Practical background in full‑stack software engineering (traditional or low‑code), including requirements analysis, solution design, testing practices and release management.
* Current OutSystems certifications (Reactive Web, Mobile, Architecture, Tech Lead or equivalent) and a track record of shipping high‑quality, maintainable solutions.
* Experience leading or coaching a development team, setting technical direction, reviewing code and ensuring alignment to best practices and non‑functional requirements.
* Eligibility to work in Australia as a citizen or valid visa holder, and for many projects the ability to obtain at least Baseline security clearance for government work.
Your Attributes
* Customer‑centred: You care deeply about business outcomes, not just features, and you are comfortable engaging with non‑technical stakeholders to simplify complex ideas.
* Technical leader: You enjoy diving into architecture and hard problems, but also know when to step back, delegate and create space for others to grow.
* Collaborative: You thrive in a learning‑driven, supportive team culture where people share, teach and seek feedback, and where everyone is invested in delivery quality.
* Growth‑oriented: You are hungry to deepen your OutSystems expertise, build towards MVP‑level impact and help shape the next generation of OutSystems talent in APAC.
* Organised and accountable: You manage time, scope, risks and dependencies proactively, keep stakeholders informed and take ownership for delivery outcomes.
Practical details
* Full‑time roles that can be permanent or contract, based anywhere in Australia, with work on projects that may involve a mix of on‑site, hybrid and remote arrangements depending on client needs.
* Target start is early in the New Year, with onboarding aligned to major project kick‑offs and client timelines.
* Competitive remuneration, commensurate with experience and engagement type, plus strong support for learning and certifications (including OutSystems and agile), and clear pathways into architecture, leadership and advisory work for longer‑term engagements.
* PhoenixDX is an equal‑opportunity employer and welcomes applications from people with the right skills and mindset; recruitment decisions are based on merit, team fit and shared values. The culture is friendly, supportive and people‑first, with a strong emphasis on learning, teaching and celebrating together.
* Many of our government clients require Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance; however, PhoenixDX is also open to candidates who hold valid Australian working holiday visas for suitable non‑clearance work. Please indicate your current citizenship, visa and clearance status when applying.
If you are an OutSystems Technical Lead who loves complex systems, empowered teams and real‑world impact – and you want to work alongside six OutSystems MVPs in a high‑growth, people‑centred company – PhoenixDX would like to hear from you.
