Delaware North are currently seeking a Dive Instructor to join our Activities Team at our Lizard Island Resort located at the 5 star property on the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef, just over an hour's flight north east of Cairns, QLD.
We are the northern most resort on the Great Barrier Reef, and a luxury lodge of Australia, Lizard Island is a truly serene property just away from the rest of the world. This is just one wonderful Lizard Island fact that makes it like nowhere else. Add 24 private beaches, and with only 40 suites and villas, that means a private beach for every guest, couple or group and still room for the staff to enjoy!
What you will bring to the role;
broad knowledge of the marine environment, particularly coral reef systems
the ability to engage & motivate your audience
provide an interactive yet secure diving experience
robust organisational skills
detailed knowledge of Marine Safety and Marine Legislation and best practice
a team player attitude
The Following Certifications and Licenses are essential:
PADI instructor certification
Exemption #38 - Marine Safety
AS 2299 diving medical certificate (Qld recognised)
Oxygen Provider(Qld WPHS recognised)
Current First Aid and CPR ( Qld WPH&S; recognised)
Valid Padi Diving Insurance
Preferred:
Elements of Shipboard Safety Certificate (Compulsory after 6 months employment)
Fishing Guide Experience
Responsible Service of Alcohol (Qld Recognised)
Manual Driver's License
Off shift you will be able to experience Lizard Island on the reef or on land, from snorkelling, diving, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, tennis under night lights, morning yoga on the beach to many more fun staff activities, you really can achieve the easy going life many people dream of.
This is a live-on remote location role. Working in a remote location is not for everyone, so you must think carefully about the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time.
