Eclipse Lighting & Sound is a leading production company specialising in live concerts, corporate events, and touring productions. Based in Queanbeyan, we deliver industry-standard audio, lighting, video, and staging solutions across Canberra and NSW.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Sound Technician to join our production team. This full-time role focuses on the setup, operation, and optimisation of live audio systems for concerts, touring shows, and corporate events. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with professional sound reinforcement systems, digital consoles, and modern audio networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and dismantle professional audio systems for live events.
Configure and operate sound reinforcement systems including microphones, mixing consoles, amplifiers, and loudspeakers.
Conduct sound checks, troubleshoot technical issues, and make real-time adjustments during live performances.
Manage digital audio networks and protocols such as Dante, AVB, and MADI.
Calibrate and tune PA systems using analysis tools (SMAART, LA Network Manager, ArmoníaPlus, etc.).
Operate digital and analog consoles (A&H; dLive, Soundcraft Vi, etc.) for live mixing.
Maintain and repair audio equipment, diagnosing faults and ensuring reliability.
Prepare technical documentation such as patch lists, console files, and system diagrams.
Collaborate with performers, production staff, and event organisers to meet sound requirements.
Ensure all audio operations comply with WHS and venue safety standards.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in professional live sound engineering or technical audio roles.
Strong knowledge of audio reinforcement systems and digital consoles.
Experience with audio networking protocols (Dante, AVB, MADI).
Proficiency with PA system calibration and measurement tools.
Ability to troubleshoot under pressure in live event environments.
Strong teamwork and communication skills with touring crews, artists, and corporate clients.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
