A well-established, locally owned public practice firm in Canberra is seeking an experienced Audit professional to join its growing team. This role offers exposure to a diverse client base, genuine career progression, and the chance to work closely with Partners in a collaborative, down-to-earth environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in planning and delivering high-quality audit engagements across a range of clients, including not-for-profit, government-adjacent and private sector organisations. Responsibilities will include:
* Leading and executing external audit engagements from planning through to completion
* Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing coaching and technical guidance
* Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact
* Preparing and reviewing financial statements and audit reports
* Contributing to process improvement and the ongoing development of the audit function
About You
You will be a motivated audit professional looking to take the next step in your public practice career. You will ideally have:
* CA qualification (or near completion)
* 3–7 years’ experience in external audit within a public practice firm
* Strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge
* Experience managing audits and mentoring junior staff
* Excellent communication skills and a practical, client-focused mindset
