Description
As the Personal Care Worker at McLaren Vale Residential Aged Care, you'll ensure the best possible quality of life for our residents.
By providing continual support in daily living tasks, you'll contribute to a safe, home-like environment that upholds residents' comfort, independence, and dignity.
Provide personal care, including assistance with showering, grooming and dressing
Support residents with daily living tasks, such as eating, general cleaning and social activities
Collaborate with fellow health-care team members to ensure individual care plans are followed
Make progress notes and communicate any changes in residents' health status
Nurture friendly, empathetic, and professional relationships with residents and their families
Note: This is a permanent part-time position, offering 8 shifts per fortnight.
The roster is as follows:
Roster: Week 1
Wednesday – AM
Saturday – AM
Sunday – ND
Roster: Week 2
Tuesday – ND
Thursday – PM
Friday – PM
Saturday – PM
Sunday – AM
Skills and Experiences
You're a compassionate, empathetic, and resilient person who deeply respects and seeks to enhance the well-being and dignity of older people.
Your excellent care and interpersonal skills will facilitate our residents' comfort and privacy, and you respect their individual preferences, values and beliefs.
Full working rights
Minimum of 12 months experience as a Care Worker
A Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent
Experience providing personal care in a residential aged care home (paid work or placement hours)
A National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
Preferably 3 COVID-19 vaccinations
Annual influenza vaccination
Preferably, current First Aid and CPR accreditation
Ideal Additional Qualifications
Availability to work three days a week or more
Ability to comply with safe work practices and food-safe handling practices
Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English
Preferably a reliable vehicle with a current driver's licence
