About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Specialist to join our team. As a Mechanical Project Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing projects from initial scoping through to safe execution and close-out.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Project Scoping: Develop scopes of work, schedules, cost estimates, and timelines for projects.
* Engineering Requirements: Manage early engineering requirements and stakeholder engagement.
* Tendering Processes: Lead tendering processes, vendor engagement, and procurement of long-lead items.
* Execution: Oversee execution (both online and offline) and flexing roster during shutdowns.
* Budget Management: Track budgets, reforecasting, and work closely with cost controllers.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with frameworks, work management, and safety procedures.
* Efficiency Improvement: Identify improvement opportunities and drive efficiency in project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience: 2–5 years’ experience in mining/heavy industrial environments and project management.
* Certification: Mechanical Trade Certificate or Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
* Skillset: Strong working knowledge of SAP (preferred) and Microsoft Office (essential).
* Communication: Clear communicator with strong leadership skills and the ability to positively influence teams.
* Safety Focus: A safety-first mindset, with experience conducting field interactions and promoting safe work practices.
