In this role, you'll:
As part of the Coordinator-General Division, you'll be at the heart of statewide asset management, supporting operational planning and service delivery across NSW. You'll help ensure the integrity and reliability of assets across bus, ferry, light rail, and maritime creating a connected, accessible, and future-ready transport system for every customer.
This is a coordination role, not configuration management. You'll lead assurance activities that give confidence our operators and suppliers are delivering to the right standards, policies, and specifications.
Your work will include:
• Leading and managing risk-based assurance plans.
• Coordinating and tracking information submissions from external operators — knowing who's responsible, when it's due, and where it goes.
• Using tools like heat maps to identify trends and performance issues across modes.
• Conducting structured audits, inspections, stakeholder meetings, and data reviews and compile detailed reports.
• Bringing together inputs from internal teams, suppliers, and operators into a coherent assurance picture.
• Supporting the development of asset reports and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
You'll have autonomy to set day-to-day priorities, suggest new strategies, and make decisions within agreed plans and standards. You'll also play a key role in identifying issues, recommending corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement.

About you
You're not just ticking boxes you understand assurance in a broad, strategic context. You're proactive, insightful, and outcome-focused, with the ability to spot patterns and risks before they become problems.
We're looking for someone who:
• Has experience as a Lead Auditor or in a similar assurance-focused role.
• Understands asset management and compliance across outsourced delivery models.
• Can trace, translate, and manipulate data in various formats.
• Is confident using Microsoft tools to break down complex information into bite-sized, presentable pieces.
• Has familiarity with safety systems like Minara and internal hazard tracking tools.
• Can engage with stakeholders across multiple modes and levels.
• Is comfortable working with external delivery partners.
• Brings a collaborative mindset and strong coordination skills.
