Senior Legal Counsel Role
This role involves leading the legal function for a global brand, encompassing franchising, commercial contracts, governance, and risk.
* Franchise Compliance: oversee franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and compliance registers.
* Commercial Contracting: prepare, negotiate, and review supplier agreements, sponsorship deals, and property leases.
* Governance & Risk: advise on risk management, privacy matters, and legislative developments; participate in internal committees.
* Board Reporting: provide accurate and concise legal updates for board consideration.
* External Counsel Engagement: manage instructions and relationships with external advisors.
* Leadership: guide a capable Legal Administrator.
This position requires an experienced lawyer who can balance business needs with legal requirements. Key qualifications include:
* 5+ years post-admission experience, preferably in franchising-heavy environments.
* Proven expertise in franchise law, including preparing disclosure documents and managing franchisee relationships.
* Strong commercial contracting experience, weighing legal risk against business goals.
* The confidence to work independently and interact with executives and cross-functional teams.
* A collaborative and practical approach, working at pace in a large, evolving business.
