**About the role**
As the Network Planning Officer, you will be an integral part of V/Line's Operations Planning Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and communicating schedules for freight trains. Your work will ensure that all schedules meet the requirements of third-party operators, and track occupations, while maintaining the efficient and safe operation of the network.
**Key Accountabilities Include**:
- Create and update operational systems (Train Plan, TrackR) with altered schedules due to public holidays, and track occupations.
- Coordinate the creation of train paths for altered NSP services, and freight adhoc trains.
- Liaise with various freight operators and network operators including MTM, ARTC to finalise and optimise freight schedules.
- Coordinate with other planners to ensure freight corridor pathing has been maximised.
- Coordinate with various internal workgroups to ensure track machines, EV120, and other high rails vehicles are scheduled to operate in a timely period to ensure track integrity in maintained.
- Produce and publish internal and external timetable documentation including circulars in a timely manner.
**About you**
You are a proactive and highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail, and you thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. You are comfortable working with complex systems and collaborating with multiple teams to ensure timely and accurate scheduling. Your communication skills will allow you to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
- Experience in transport planning, preferable experience in TrainPlan, and network rail operation knowledge.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential).
- Strong communication and organisational skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and in tight timeframes.
