The Role: Fleet Controller

As a Fleet Controller at Sadleirs Logistics you will use your organising and problem-solving skills to manage stakeholders and proactively improve overall business results.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Enact pickup, delivery, and linehaul road and rail plans supplied by our Control Tower
* Use problem-solving skills to address challenges and maintain operational efficiency
* Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external parties
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including fatigue management and dangerous goods, including safety and performance standards

Your responsibilities will include:

Communication with drivers, operations team and loaders, monitoring and adhering to safety & legal requirements, and maintaining administrative accuracy during the delivery process:

* Communication: maintain high levels of driver contact to ensure the availability of assets to meet delivery / pickup / linehaul plans
* Administrative & System Accuracy: All delivery, pick-up, and logging requirements must be accurately entered into the system and detailed correctly. Ensure that vehicle (servicing / maintenance / hire) and trailer numbers are correctly communicated and recorded on the driver run sheets
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure the driver's fatigue rules, break times and any pay rules are communicated. Confirm all legal weight and dimension load limits for vehicles prior to loading. Ensure all delivery and market requirements (e.g., permits, EOT) are met and completed
* Documentation: Complete necessary docket requirements for each vehicle and communicate any issues with the fleet controller. Provide all necessary paperwork for delivery requirements, including but not limited to pallets, PIS, and delivery dockets/documents
* Driver Debriefing: Participate in driver debriefings daily, resolving issues, processing documents for invoicing, performing compliance-based procedures.

What You'll Need:

* A proven track record in asset maintenance, dispatch and scheduling
* Strong communication skills with excellent asset coordination and interpersonal skills
* Experience in compliance, safety and performance monitoring
* A self-starter attitude with a proactive and results-oriented approach
* Demonstrated experience in logistical planning, fleet control
* Advantageous to have a thorough understanding of Melbourne's transport network
* Confident in understanding of OH&S and demonstrate this to the team
* Training and qualifications in Load Restraint
* First Aid is desirable
* A team-focused, can-do attitude
* The right to live and work in Australia
