Primary objective
Provide a high level of administrative and business support through the management of program functions, including
supporting staff and providing financial and information management support to the School Operations Manager, the
Principal, the Learning in Country Team and other school staff in a busy and demanding school environment.
Context statement
Yuendumu School is in the community of Yuendumu, 300km northwest of Alice Springs on the Tanami Road. Yuendumu
is a Bilingual school providing education from FaFT to Secondary. Approximately 240 students are enrolled with nearly
all students speaking Warlpiri as their first language. The Learning in Country Program enables students to experience
the teaching and learning of language and culture with Elders in Country and provides a foundation for curriculum, and
teaching and learning across the school.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Responsible for supporting the budget of the LinC Program, including the preparation and management of purchase
orders, and advising staff on financial policies and processes as directed by the School Operations Manager.
2. Ensure timely and accurate management of school and LinC Program data, including accurate maintenance of all
manual and computerised records including data entry, data retrieval and report preparation.
3. Provide high level support to School Leadership by managing the Program budget and preparing financial and project
reports for the Principal, School Council and funding bodies when required.
4. Organise and support staff to ensure the accurate completion of employment requirements including timesheets,
MyHR entries, performance growth and development planning and other as directed.
5. Provide administrative support to the Program team and other school staff including word processing, data entry,
records management and the management and appropriate use of school facilities and resources.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated sound interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with
people from diverse cultures and work well with a wide range of people with tact and discretion.
2. Demonstrated high level administrative and organisational skills, including tracking and managing work deadlines,
adjusting priorities to meet deadlines and working collaboratively with others.
3. Demonstrated high level computer literacy, including experience with the effective use of various office applications.
4. The ability to work in a team and maintain integrity and confidentiality.
