The Role: Join the Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, and help reduce loneliness among older Australians. As a volunteer, you0ll be paired with a senior who would love regular social visits. Activities can include chatting over coffee, sharing stories, listening to music, playing games, or enjoying a short walkfer whatever suits both of you! It0s a simple way to make a big difference in your community.
About the Client
Meet a 90-year-old gentleman living in a residential aged care facility in King Meadows. Once a skilled handyman and a devoted pastor, he enjoys gardening and listening to gospel music and hymns. He0s looking for a friendly volunteer to share a cuppa and a good conversation.

About You
* Lives in and around Kings Meadows or happy to travel.
* Possess clear communication skills
* Compassionate, patient and an excellent listener
* Passionate about giving back to your community
* Conducts yourself with open-mindedness and respect, ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of our clients is always maintained
* Comfortable using technology to provide feedback and connect with the Volunteer Program
* Availability for a flexible six-month commitment
Time Commitment
1 hour per week or fortnight, between 9:00am - 5:00pm. At genU, we0re all about flexibility. Lets chat and find out the hours which suit you best!
