Job Overview
The Australian Defence Force is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Scheduler to support the AH-64E Apache helicopter program. The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating tasks related to flight and simulator device training activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate training continuum course delivery schedules and pilot pathway events, including asset booking, simulator devices, and live flight scheduling.
* Support coordination and re-scheduling efforts for all training event changes, including schedule risk assessment and alternative plan analysis.
* Provide administrative support to Course Managers for training initiation and completion, in accordance with AAvnTC Standard Operating Procedures and higher-level policy.
Requirements
* Proven scheduling or coordination experience in transport/logistics, rostering, or operations (flight scheduling desirable).
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication; able to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
* Ability to prioritise, think quickly, and make pragmatic decisions under pressure.
* Proven ability to analyse schedule conflicts and implement pragmatic mitigation plans.
* Comfortable using scheduling/roster systems and MS Office suite - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
* A collaborative mindset and customer-service focus.
Desirable Skills
* Exposure to aviation operations or crew rostering.
* Experience with specialised scheduling software or ERP systems (e.g., Patriot Excalibur/PEX).
* Qualifications or clearances relevant to defence/aviation.
* Understanding of Defence training reporting requirements.
