Court Security Manager
As part of the Department of Justice contract, we are seeking a Court Security Manager to lead the team in Bunbury. The role involves providing critical support and assistance in delivering an effective and efficient court operation.
The successful candidate will ensure the correct deployment of staff across the region and be responsible for the day-to-day performance of Deputy Court Security Managers and Court & Custody Officers who fall under their management.
* Liaise with local officials to ensure contractual requirements are met.
* Ensure suitable resources are available in the Court and Custody areas.
* Inspect and monitor court operations to ensure compliance.
* Deliver a high standard of service delivery while maintaining staff welfare, safety, and security.
* Verify all warrants according to documented procedures.
* Inspect and check Court premises to ensure the effectiveness and tidiness of security systems.
* Maintain emergency procedures and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities.
* Monitor the submission of incident reports within required timeframes.
* Provide clear direction and objectives for direct reports.
* Represent the organization at Court User Group Meetings.
* Contribute positively to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment.
The ideal candidate will possess:
1. A Certificate III or IV in Corrective Services or related field.
2. Control and Restraint certification.
3. Senior First Aid and CPR qualifications or equivalent.
4. Ability to read and interpret correspondence, legislations, and regulations.
5. High level of computer skills and report writing ability.
6. Proven experience in a leadership position.
7. A collaborative management style and ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationships.
8. Experience in an escort custody operational environment.
9. Strong focus on safety and security awareness.
10. Personable and professional with strong capability to remain objective, unbiased, and balanced in challenging environments.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and correct language.
