The role and responsibilities
In this Section Engineer - Highways role, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of highways works on a National Highways scheme in Penrith. You will be responsible for coordinating site engineering activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
* Managing day-to-day engineering activities on site
* Supporting the planning and delivery of highways construction works
* Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with design drawings and specifications
* Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors and project managers
* Reviewing and managing technical documentation and quality records
* Supporting setting out and surveying activities where required
* Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained across the site
* Assisting with programme updates and resolving engineering issues during delivery
Must have skills and experience
* Experience working as a Section Engineer, Site Engineer or similar on highways projects
* Previous experience working on National Highways schemes
* Strong understanding of highways construction processes and standards
* Experience managing site engineering activities and coordinating teams
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
* CSCS card (or equivalent)
