About This Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Senior Officer to lead our Revenue and Collections team. In this role, you'll oversee day to day operations in Revenue recovery, support system improvements, and ensure revenue processes run smoothly and in line with legislation and Council policies.
What You'll Be Doing
Coordinating and guiding the Revenue & Collections Officers to deliver high quality service in Revenue Collection and Accounts Receivable functions
Managing system configuration, testing updates, and supporting staff with training and troubleshooting.
Overseeing revenue collection activities, working closely with our Debt Collection Agency, and managing payment plans.
Coordination of Sale of Land procedures in consultation with Council's solicitor.
Ensuring timely issue of rate reminder notices.
Maintaining accurate rating and accounts receivable data.
Improving procedures to enhance efficiency across the team.
Providing expert advice to internal stakeholders and responding to customer enquiries.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Practical experience in rating, property and collections within a local authority or experience in a similar field to meet the legislative and operational requirements of the position
Well-developed ability to deal with difficult situations, clearly articulate issues, negotiate outcomes and resolve problems, with anattitude to take personal responsibility for promptly handling and resolving workplace tasks.
Confident communicator with the ability to lead, support, and train others.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to service quality.
Ability to work collaboratively and keep processes compliant and efficient.
