Service Technician (Small Engine)

Step into a hands‑on Technician position with Hutcheon & Pearce and work with industry‑leading John Deere small engine equipment. In this role, you'll become the trusted expert our customers rely on to keep their gear running smoothly. From everyday servicing to tackling more complex mechanical challenges, you'll play a key part in keeping our local farming and lifestyle customers moving.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Diagnose, service, and repair small machinery across John Deere's Agriculture, Turf, Golf, and Construction ranges, while also providing support for Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
* Grow your skills with ongoing John Deere Service Training and professional development.
* Keep our workshop running smoothly by maintaining service vehicles, tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
* Work safely by following all H&P and industry safety standards and procedures.
* Complete service reports, documentation, and records accurately and on schedule.
* Record labour and materials for each job to support transparent, efficient workflows.
What You'll Bring:
* A current qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanics or higher
* A valid driver's licence
* Self‑motivation, strong organisation skills, and attention to detail
* The ability to work independently while still being a strong team player
* Solid communication skills and confidence using computers
* Good time‑management skills and the ability to prioritise to meet customer needs
