The Senior Designer is responsible for developing and designing collections for Country Road Menswear, aligned with the brand's customer. Working closely with the broader design and buying team, this role ensures brand objectives are met by overseeing range development from concept to delivery, mentoring the team, and collaborating with key stakeholders on key milestones.
**Please note that this role is a 12 month FTC**
Key Accountabilities
* Design and develop products aligned with brand strategy that fulfill customer needs and provide ongoing innovation in designated categories
* Align product details and aesthetics across categories to ensure monthly collection cohesion
* Ensure the collection resonates with target customer
* Guide the Designer in product design and development before range sessions with the Head of Design, Buying Manager and Production Manager
* Communicate with factories, suppliers, and agents to develop and produce collections that meet the brand's and customers' quality standards
* Oversee the completion of briefing sheets for all styles within nominated categories, ensuring they are handed over to the Technical Designer according to the critical path
* Lead fit direction with the Technical Designer to maintain consistent fit and high-quality workmanship
* Communicate styling adjustments post-fittings to the Merchandise Planner, Buying and Production Manager, addressing any design concerns, potential delays, or price adjustments
* Review weekly sales reports to analyse best sellers, sell-through rates, and any issues with specific styles or colours
* Lead and mentor a Designer and Design Assistant.
Key Capabilities
* Diploma or degree qualification in Design
* Exceptional technical skills, fabric and/or yarn sourcing and knowledge
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, having had the experience in presenting to an Executive Team
* Ability to work in a potentially rapidly changing environment.
