Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team and contribute to the advancement of hydrogen research. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with colleagues at a leading university, leveraging state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to undertake research focused on geochemistry and diagenetic alteration on hydrogen injection and recovery.
The primary objective of this project is to improve the understanding of geological heterogeneities and their impact on subsurface flow and interactions of hydrogen upon injection and subsequent recovery. This requires a strong background in sedimentology, structural geology, and geomechanics, as well as expertise in fluid flow in porous media.
The postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to refine and develop research priorities in collaboration with academic supervisors and industry sponsors. They will also be part of a multidisciplinary research team, contributing to solving problems and developing scientific ideas.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A completed PhD with a focus on geochemistry or petroleum geoscience/petroleum engineering.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Experience of conducting research experiments in a laboratory setting, including the design and oversight of experimental research activities.
* Fluency in written and spoken English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
