Tangatours, located at the famous Tangalooma resort, is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a **Marine Maintenance Officer**.
The role requires on-island living on spectacular Moreton Island, the 3rd largest sand island in the world and a sub-tropical paradise. The island has wide-open beaches, abundant wildlife, and plenty of outdoor activities. Uniquely, we are only a 1 hour and 15 minutes ferry launch away from Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland.

**The Role**
The successful applicant will have a combination of marine and mechanical skills, with a passion for safety and maintenance in the Marine Tourism Industry. Our fleet of vessels consist of:
- Three 12m pontoon tour vessels (each with 2x 70hp Suzuki engines)
- One parasailing vessel (Yanmar 315hp turbo diesel inboard engines with Mercruiser Bravo 2 legs)
- Five small Hire and Drive motorboats, with Suzuki 4hp outboards
- Three Yamaha VX Delux Jet Skis
- Four Nacra Resort Catamarans
- A variety of kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddleboards.
These vessels have a range of uses, such as observation, snorkelling, sight-seeing, wildlife spotting, cruising, parasailing, banana boat rides, and hire & drive operations.
**The Applicant**
This position is currently available. The successful applicant will be available to start immediately, or within a short period of time as negotiated. Note: this position will require you to relocate to Moreton Island.
The successful applicant **must** have:
- Marine trade or MED 1
- Strong mechanical inboard and outboard maintenance experience;
- Yamaha and Suzuki outboard knowledge;
- A demonstrated ability to comply and operate in accordance with company policy and procedure, and regulatory requirements;
- An ability and willingness to learn new skills;
- A commitment to operational and organisational safety.
Additional **desirable **skills include:
- Coxswain Licence (including orals) or recreational boat license;
- PWC Licence;
- First Aid Certificate (_Provide First Aid_);
- Sound administrative and computer skills;
- Oceanic Equipment Technician, or similar training in maintaining compressors and / or diving equipment;
- Diving and / or customer service skills;
- Prior experience in a similar role;
- Electrical experience - Low voltage.
