Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our leadership team at our Bowen Basin underground mining operation. Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the corporate finance team, this role plays a pivotal part in driving the financial and commercial performance of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial management functions across the site, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and cost control;
- Negotiate, manage, and execute financial contracts and commercial agreements to optimise outcomes for the operation;
- Provide commercial guidance and strategic advice to mine management to support operational decision-making;
- Lead and manage site administration and warehouse functions;
- Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing team to deliver accurate, timely, and effective financial and commercial support;
- Ensure compliance with statutory, corporate, and regulatory requirements; and
- Oversee internal controls, financial risk management, and support internal assurance and audit activities.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CA/CPA highly regarded);
- Proven experience in a commercial or financial leadership role within the mining, resources, or heavy industry sectors;
- Strong background in contract management, financial analysis, and risk management;
- Demonstrated ability to partner with operational leaders and provide practical financial insights;
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving process improvements; and
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
