Overview
Our client is a NFP association in its establishment phase, requiring a strategic planning lead to develop the organisation's first Corporate Plan. This role requires a senior professional who can bring strategic thinking, analytical capability, and structured problem-solving to develop the key inputs, assumptions and operating model design decisions. Working within tight deadlines you will be responsible for drafting the Corporate Plan, strategic analysis and planning foundation paper, Board workshop design, materials and facilitation, issue papers on major strategic and design questions and high-level operating model papers. The operating model must be sufficiently developed to support budget development and fee modelling. You will also undertake stakeholder consultation and engagement to support Board members, government stakeholders, industry participants, consumer or community stakeholders and other relevant ombudsman or dispute resolution schemes. Requirements will also include benchmarking and environmental scanning to examine comparable ombudsman or dispute resolution schemes, relevant governance, funding or operating models and emerging practices that may inform organisational design. Responsibilities
* Draft the Corporate Plan, strategic analysis and planning foundation paper.
* Design and facilitate Board workshops; prepare materials and issue papers on major strategic and design questions.
* Develop high-level operating model papers and ensure the operating model supports budget development and fee modelling.
* Conduct stakeholder consultation and engagement with Board members, government stakeholders, industry participants, consumer or community stakeholders and other relevant bodies.
* Perform benchmarking and environmental scanning on comparable schemes, governance, funding or operating models and emerging practices informing organisational design.
* Prepare options and scenario envelope papers.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strategic thinkers with vision and strong analytical and research skills, stakeholder management and strategic/execution management with strong project management skills.
* Experience in corporate strategy development, high-level operating model design, structured analytical problem solving and facilitation of senior executive or Board workshops.
* Experience at a senior level in ombudsman schemes or dispute resolution bodies, regulatory or quasi-regulatory environments, public sector or public-purpose organisations, or organisations undergoing establishment or major transformation.
* Experience developing organisational strategies, corporate plans, and facilitating Board-level discussions effectively.
* Desirable: experience in member-funded or industry-funded schemes, development of first corporate plans for new organisations, and translating strategy into early organisational and financial planning.
