PCA Ground Engineering is an innovative company offering design and construction ground engineering services to both private and public sector clients.
We work primarily as a Principal Contractor and at times as a subcontractor with the right Clients.
The company is continually growing and is expecting to win some major projects over the next few months and therefore is looking to recruit an experienced Company Accountant to join our team in the Gold Coast office.
The Role
We are looking for a Company Accountant who excels in both technical accounting and advanced data analytics.
In this role, you will deliver accurate data, reports, and analysis to various teams, leadership, and the wider business. With a strong emphasis on data, your main responsibility will be translating complex financial and project information into practical insights. You'll work closely with leadership to enhance transparency, boost performance, and aid in strategic decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare management accounts (monthly, quarterly, annual)
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements
* Analyze project data, costs, and margins
* Deliver variance analysis and predictive models for operations
* Build dashboards in Power BI and models in Excel
* Provide actionable insights for Finance and business units
* Develop datasets with Power Query (M) and SQL; automate with VBA / Python
* Assist with ERP and software platform optimization
Skills & Experience
* Construction or heavy industry experience preferred
* 3+ years in similar roles (5+ ideal)
* Strong management and financial accounting background
* Experience with large ERPs; Dynamics 365 BC preferred
* Advanced Excel, Power BI, practical SQL / VBA (Python a plus)
* CA / CPA qualified or progressing, mentoring available
* Big 4 or mid-tier firm exposure valued
