Osborne Richardson and engineering recruitment go hand in hand right across Australia, and we've been fortunate to partner with councils the length and breadth of the country to build out their infrastructure teams over the past decade. We don't just fill roles either – we champion engineers, we back the profession, and we stay in your corner long after a placement kicks off. So when a cracking Queensland local government role comes across our desk, we get genuinely excited about sharing it.
On this occasion, we have a fantastic Project Engineer opportunity with Ipswich City Council in their Resource Recovery branch – right in our home patch of South East Queensland and in the fastest-growing city in the state! If you're after a role that blends solid technical engineering, real-world project delivery and a bit of meaning behind your week, it's hard to beat this one.
As the City's newest Resource Recovery Project Engineer, you'll deliver engineering and project support across a diverse portfolio of waste and resource recovery infrastructure projects (basic through to properly complex), making sure works are planned and delivered safely, compliantly and in line with scope, cost, quality and program. Reporting to the Waste Infrastructure Coordinator, you'll be hands‐on across design, delivery, contract administration, site coordination and everything in between.
Duties
* Providing engineering and project support to capital infrastructure projects so designs meet the needs of the Resource Recovery branch and works are delivered to approved specs, standards, budgets and program.
* Reviewing and interpreting technical documentation including drawings, specifications, reports and contracts.
* Supporting contract administration including assessment of progress claims, variations, EoTs and non-conformances.
* Coordinating site activities, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders so works are undertaken safely and with minimal impact on the community, environment and Council operations.
* Monitoring contractor performance and quality outcomes through inspections, testing, audits and compliance checks.
* Identifying, assessing and managing project risks – safety, technical, environmental and delivery.
* Contributing to project reporting and promoting safe work practices across the board.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
* Demonstrated experience providing engineering and project support on complex infrastructure or civil construction projects.
* Strong ability to interpret and apply technical documentation, specifications and contractual requirements.
* Demonstrated capability coordinating contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders in a multi‐disciplinary project environment.
* Sound knowledge of WHS requirements in waste facility or construction environments.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.
* Current Queensland 'C' class driver licence and Construction White Card.
* RPEQ registration (or eligibility), formal project management qualifications, and prior experience delivering waste or resource recovery infrastructure in a local government or public sector setting will all be highly regarded.
