Process Technologist - Mechanical Fitter & Pilot Plant OperatorWe are seeking a skilled Process Technologist - Mechanical Fitter & Pilot Plant Operator responsible for operating, maintaining, improving, and repairing equipment in the R&D pilot plant supporting our research and development agenda. The role involves end-to-end accountability for pilot plant equipment, trial operations, and maintaining safety and hygiene standards, working closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure compliance with site policies.The position also collaborates with Global and EU process development teams and cross-functional teams including Marketing, Supply Chain, and SUIT. The successful candidate will manage the R&D pilot plant to execute projects related to innovation, quality, complexity, and cost reduction, ensuring the plant's reliability to deliver high-quality, sustainable products.Role Responsibilities :Operate, maintain, and repair equipment using technical skills and mechanical competence.Conduct complex fault finding and machinery repairs.Monitor equipment condition using diagnostic techniques.Maintain equipment such as ice cream mix plants, freezers, manufacturing lines, and other systems.Lead pilot plant trials, set up equipment, and recommend operating parameters and improvements.Support design and modification of factory processes for innovation.Ensure safe and effective design, installation, and maintenance of pilot plant facilities.Identify and implement improvements to increase functionality and safety.Communicate and troubleshoot issues affecting pilot trials.Manage services with contractors and update maintenance records.Ensure availability of operational manuals, SOPs, and risk assessments.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pilot plant in accordance with 5S standards.Respond to urgent maintenance needs and train personnel in safe operations.Serve as key contact for pilot plant matters and perform hands-on manufacturing of ice cream products for research insights.What You Will Need to Succeed - Experiences & Qualifications :Minimum of 4 years' experience in maintenance, bench fitting, or machining at a Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter level.Experience working in manufacturing environments with teams of operators and engineers.Knowledge or certification in pneumatics; electrical license preferred.Background or knowledge of ice cream manufacturing.Experience working in laboratories, pilot plants, or factories.Project management experience with a focus on meeting deadlines.Desired :Comfort with operating equipment and machinery, particularly ice cream machinery.Ability to work under pressure and analyze situations for effective recommendations.Hands-on practical skills and teamwork orientation.Willingness to learn and effective communication skills.Leadership Behaviours :Meet expectations in Purposeful Impact, Personal Mastery, Agility, and Passion for High Performance.We expect high standards from our team.
