About the role:
As a Financial Accountant reporting to our Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the material and higher risk financial transactions as part of our financial close process. This includes preparation of journals, technical accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with preparation and review of the P&L as well as lodgement of Business Activity Statements and acquittal reports.
You will also support both the Finance Manager and Financial Controller in providing analysis of business performance, the development of financial models for budgeting purposes and the creation of financial reports as required.
Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Ensure month-end journals are accurate and posted in line with the month-end timetable.
* Deliver high quality analysis and evaluation of financial information and issues to support senior management decision making.
* Ensure clear and accurate reconciliations with understanding of the rec and minimisation of reconciling items.
We offer a hybrid working model with 2 days a week in our Bella Vista office and the rest from home.
About you:
* Previous experience with the Australian Accounting Standards (AASBs)
* Chartered accounting background (Qualified CA or CPA)
* Strong analytical, communication and organisation skills
* Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
* Ability to build strong relationships within a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to work independently and proactively, identifying issues and potential solutions
* Advanced computer skills including Google suite and Microsoft (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
* Any previous experience within the Aged Care industry would be advantageous but not essential.
