The Role Reporting to the Production Manager, the Programming Lead & CNC Operator / Programmer is a hands-on role combining daily CNC machine operation with ownership of CNC programming standards across production. You will play a key role in ensuring machining accuracy, production efficiency, and operator capability, while also contributing to process improvement and technical problem-solving. Role Time Allocation 70% – CNC Machine Operation 30% – CNC Programming, optimisation, and operator support Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machinery, including 3-axis (5-axis exposure highly regarded) Create, modify, and optimise CNC programs for complex and non-standard jobs Verify cutting lists and drawings against work orders prior to machining Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and on-the-job support to CNC operators Ensure CNC machines are operated safely and in line with daily production schedules Accurately complete and close production orders within the ERP system Assist with tooling availability, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives Success in this role will be measured by: Safe and compliant machine operation Consistent product quality and machining accuracy Reliability of CNC programs and reduction of rework Contribution to process improvement and operator capability Skills, Qualifications & Experience Trade qualification in Joinery, Cabinet Making, Manufacturing, or equivalent hands-on experience Minimum 5 years’ experience operating and programming CNC machinery Strong experience with 3-axis CNC machines (5-axis highly desirable) Ability to confidently read and interpret drawings, cutting lists, and work orders A practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail Contact Please call Eugene Lane-Mullins on 0435 914 485 or email e.lane-mullins@aspectpersonnel.com.au to discuss this role or any other positions in more detail.
