Responsibilities
* Work alongside business leaders and client delivery program teams, providing clear, considered legal advice that balances commercial risk with practical, outcome‐focused solutions.
* Support commercial contracting, corporate governance, and compliance activities, contributing to delivery of complex programs in a technology and engineering‐led organization.
* Navigate a dynamic environment with evolving priorities, making sound judgments and progressing matters with pace and pragmatism.
* Provide commercial‐focused legal support across a broad range of matters, partnering closely with stakeholders to enable business outcomes while managing legal risk.
* Influence decisions through credibility, judgment, and collaboration, rather than directive authority.
Qualifications
* Approximately 5 to 10 years post‐qualification experience as a lawyer with a solid foundation in commercial or corporate law.
* Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
* A strong commercial mindset and the ability to understand business drivers and provide advice that supports decision‐making.
* Ability to influence outcomes through credibility, judgment, and collaboration.
* Confidence operating in ambiguous and evolving environments, with the ability to make decisions and move matters forward.
* Pragmatic approach, comfortable progressing work and delivering outcomes without every detail fully resolved.
* Adaptability to respond to changing priorities and business needs.
* Exposure to corporate governance and compliance frameworks.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Location & Working Arrangements
The role will be based in either Melbourne or Canberra, with a typical week of in‐office work on two days and the remainder from home.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian citizen.
