The Role:
Mildura Base Public Hospital is seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dedicated catering team on a casual basis.
You will assist the Food Services Manager and Head Chef in the efficient operation of the Food Services department, ensuring a safe, high quality food service to all patients, customers and guests.
Chefs/trade cooks are responsible for ensuring a high standard in quality of Hospital food production whilst ensuring cleanliness within the department in line with required standards and hospital policies.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Relevant Qualifications/Trade Certificate
* A capacity and commitment to embrace the HEART Values of MBPH
* Demonstrated leadership qualities
* Demonstrated ability to be caring and compassionate to a diverse range of individuals
* Ability to effectively manage while operating under time constraints
* Ability to work shift work including early morning, afternoon and evening shifts as rostered
* Uses initiative, enthusiastic, motivated and committed to quality improvement.
* The ability to work within a team environment that promotes positivity and teamwork
* Clear understanding of Safe Food Handling within a health care facility
* Clear understanding of HACCP principals and Food Standards and Regulations
* Clear understanding of compliance with the Food Safety program
