Key Responsibilities
* Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for new roofing, shed, cladding, renovation, and structural building projects (residential, commercial, industrial).
* Review architectural drawings, site plans, and specifications - interpret scope and produce accurate take-offs (materials, labour, subcontractors).
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing for materials and services.
* Analyse project risks, allowances, margins, timeframes, and produce bid documentation.
* Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure deliverable scope aligns with tender submissions.
* Maintain records: cost data, historical estimates, supplier contact lists, bid results, and feedback for continuous improvement.
Selection Criteria / Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as a Construction Estimator (ideally in roofing, sheds, structural or general building projects).
* Strong ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and produce precise take-offs.
* Familiarity with Australian building materials (e.g. Colorbond, LYSAGHT, cold-rolled steel sheds) and structural requirements for residential, commercial, and industrial builds.
* Proficient with cost estimation software/spreadsheets and capable of delivering timely, competitive bids.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
* Valid construction industry licence or willingness to obtain relevant certifications is advantageous.
