**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Initially working from Mawson Lakes, SA, then the Osborne Ship Yard, The Combat SQQ-89 and Hawklink Technician will be providing network and system support on-board Hobart Class platforms during the ship test programs.
SQQ-89 is the LM Undersea Warfare Combat System or Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW). Hawklink is a Command and control (or TCDL) data link for Ships to Helicopters. You will be providing technical support for Hobart Class SQQ-89 and Hawklink, and associated equipment operations and maintenance.
**About you**:
- Although experience in Aegis Combat System is desirable, transferable skills in other relevant Combat Systems will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, radar systems, sensor or sonar systems, radio frequency (RF)/communications or data transmission, and data management.
- Certificate III or above in a relevant discipline (electronics or communications) and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to travel for 6-8 weeks for training in the US, May 2026.
- Proven expertise in managing and maintaining complex network infrastructures.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving networking issues onboard naval platforms or similar defence platforms.
- Familiarity with ship test programs and land-based/training site operations is advantageous.
**Special Requirements**:
- Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
