Health, Safety & Wellness Partner

Level 6 - $122,693.21 per annum (incl. $20,000 Port Hedland Allowance + Housing Allowance and 12% Superannuation)

Full-Time | Permanent Role (Site-Based)

The Role

Join us as a Health, Safety & Wellness Partner and play a key part in shaping a safer, healthier and more connected workplace across the Town of Port Hedland. In this permanent, full-time role, you'll work alongside passionate leaders and teams - both indoors and out - to build a strong, proactive safety culture for our people and community.

What You'll Be Doing

* Partnering with leaders, employees, contractors and volunteers to lift safety awareness and foster a wellbeing-first culture.
* Providing up-to-date WHS advice, coaching and support aligned with relevant WHS legislation.
* Championing health, safety and wellness initiatives that keep our workforce safe and thriving.
* Supporting the implementation, compliance and continuous improvement of the Town's Safety Management System.
* Facilitating and participate in health and safety meetings across the organisation.
* Conducting regular onsite safety inspections, audits and incident investigations.
* Managing key safety administration tasks, including workers' compensation and injury management processes.
* Playing an active role in driving hazard prevention and embedding safer ways of working.

* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills - you enjoy working with people at all levels
* Excellent written and verbal communication, including confident and efficient report writing.
* High attention to detail, strong time management and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a drive to make meaningful, lasting improvements.
* A collaborative approach and willingness to support a positive, safety-led culture.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

* Tertiary qualification in Work, Health & Safety (Certificate IV or higher)
* Level of mobility must allow for employees to comply with Emergency Evacuation Procedures
* Workplace First Aid
* National Police Clearance
* Current 'C' class drivers license
* Rights to work in Australia
