The Demand Planner forecasts demand for retail products to ensure they can be available and delivered for customers. The goal of the position is to hit a balance between having sufficient inventory levels to meet customer needs, without having a surplus. The Demand Planner will ensure that these levels are consistently met in a cost-effective manner.
* Analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to create accurate and reliable demand forecasts for products or services.
* Develop and generate accurate demand forecasts for products or services using advanced Forecasting techniques, statistical models, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
* Maintain optimal inventory levels by ensuring that stock levels are in line with SRI Budget requirements, projected demand, preventing stockouts and overstock situations.
* Evaluate and account for demand variability due to factors such as promotions, product launches, economic trends, and external market influence.
* Continuously monitor forecast accuracy and adjust models and processes as needed to improve the reliability of predictions.
* Identify potential risks and opportunities related to demand fluctuations and work on strategies to mitigate negative impacts and capitalize on positive trends.
* Provide input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
What you will need to be successful
* Proven experience in demand planning and forecasting, preferably in a similar industry or role.
* Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting software/tools.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
* Ability to interpret complex data and trends to make informed decisions.
* Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle uncertainty and changing circumstances.
* Knowledge of supply chain operations and inventory management principles.
What you will get in return
This is a permanent position, with the salary of $110,000 plus super, depending on experience.
