As part of our growth, we’re seeking an Operational Director to provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership across our multidisciplinary team, with a strong emphasis on guiding and supporting Behaviour Support Practitioners and Provisional Psychologists in remote and regional settings.

About the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the operational systems that enable our clinical services to thrive, while also playing a critical leadership role in supporting positive staff development, professional and regulatory standards, and high-quality service delivery outcomes.

This is an exciting and dynamic leadership opportunity where you’ll be both hands on and strategic in balancing workforce development, policy oversight, travel logistics, legal and IT governance, financial reporting and WHS compliance, all within a trauma-informed, person-centred framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide operational oversight and direction to multi-disciplinary teams to ensure NDIS Practice Standards, FairWork, and relevant national and state regulatory and legislative compliance.

Oversee financial planning, reporting, and compliance including financial forecasting, budgeting, payroll, invoicing, and audits.

Oversee all administrative processes including outreach and travel bookings, employee leave, reimbursements and mileage.

Provide oversight of all legal and Information technology (IT) requests ensuring the company’s services remain legally compliant and supportive of clinical service delivery.

Lead the development and continuous improvement of operational induction, onboarding, and staff retention systems.

Monitor and manage workplace health and safety systems aligned to community-based and remote practice.

Collaborate with the Clinical Director on recruitment, workforce planning, and operational aspects of service delivery.

We’re Looking for Someone Who Has…

Confidence and competence to support employees navigate interpersonal relationships and conflict to produce outcomes and aligned goals.

A demonstrated capacity to motivate and support multi-disciplinary teams to achieve their professional development goals and KPIs.

Experience working with rural and remote communities and organisations to advocate for, and support the needs of, participants.

Experience conducting assessments (e.g. FBA, psychosocial) and writing high-quality person-centred, evidence-based reports.

A collaborative, values-aligned approach and a deep respect for diversity.

A strong grasp of budgeting, financial planning, managing resources and lead cost–control measures.

Experience in service delivery oversight, compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, and familiarity managing governance and operational risk.

Developed and implemented operational policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance and process efficiency.

Relevant postgraduate qualifications in business, psychology, social work, or behavioural science (mandatory).

Registered as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA or endorsed as Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS (preferred).
