Job Description
A Data Centre Operations Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of critical equipment, including diesel power generators, HVAC systems, and fire suppression systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles as well as experience working in mission-critical environments.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or technical certification in a relevant field, such as mechanical or electrical engineering, and at least 2 years of experience in maintenance work on mechanical or electrical equipment. Additionally, experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a data centre or similar environment is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and implement routine and corrective maintenance on critical systems
* Establish performance benchmarks and conduct analyses to optimize facility operations
* Assist with design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities
* Develop and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability
* Manage facility assets and provision of infrastructure and inventory asset management
* Manage on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors
