About the role
The Volunteer Social Companion Dog Visitor will participate (with their friendly dog) in weekly social meetings with a client living in Caboolture South; taking short walks around the client's home and chatting about shared interests (dogs).
As the Volunteer Social Companion Dog Visitor you will be:
Visiting a client for social companionship on a weekly basis
Bringing along your friendly, calm dog to share the joy of pet ownership with a dog lover living with Motor Neurone Disease
Taking short walks with client around their care home
Being a kind and helpful face to clients and carers
About you
Able and willing to commit to weekly social visits
Able and willing to bring along your friendly, calm dog
A great listener and communicator
Friendly, down-to-earth attitude
Passion for helping others and making a difference
Current holder of or willing to apply for NDIS WSC (Yellow card)
About your dog
Friendly, calm, loves people, well trained
Happy to be petted and fawned over by a fellow dog lover
Our client loves large dogs so if that's your furry friend we'd love to meet them
