Operating 3 manufacturing sites, 23 Service Branches as well as Engineering Design & Fabrication facilities employing over 1200 employees.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Mt Isa Branch and work with our Core Service team, who respect you and your contributions.
We are a results-oriented, family-oriented, and committed team.
We are looking for a proactive, self-starter to assist our trade qualified technicians in the maintenance, service, repair and assembly of conveyor components and systems.
This is an excellent chance to advance your career with an opportunity to undertake our Traineeship Belt Splicing Program, including a nationally recognised qualification and a fully company funded Certificate III in Polymer Processing, leading to a permanent full-time position with a global mining organisation.
This opportunity suits those starting out in their career or those seeking to level up and earn a Trade Certificate.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Assisting with mapping and marking out splices
Assisting on shutdowns with planned belt changes
Assisting with belt splicing and installations of conveyor belts (fabric, ply, solid woven, or steel – cord); including removal and replacement
Equipment and shutdown preparation
Ensure good housekeeping practices on site and in the workshop
Participate in and sign off on JSA's; safety observations or toolbox discussions
Roster & Conditions
5/2 roster, Monday - Friday
Permanent full time, 38 hours per week minimum
Consistent overtime opportunities
1 RDO a month

What we need from you
Strong safety focus
Current driver's licence
Previous experience in a Trade Assistant role, ideally in manufacturing or mining
Good mechanical aptitude, and solid communication and numerical skills
Willingness to work on-call and overtime
Prepared to undergo a full pre-employment medical and National Police Check
Ideally hold: forklift ticket, working at heights, dogger, basic riggers, and/or confined space qualifications
