McMullen Trades are seeking an experienced Accountant / Book Keeper to join our team in Whyalla, South Australia. Initially this is a part-time role. You will work closely with our internal team and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting.
What you'll be doing
* Processing of Debtors and Creditors invoices
* Assisting with projects, planning, and work flow
* Review of the companies 4 entities at various times – McMullen Trades, Normco Home Improvement, National 1 Trades and UZIT Kitchen and Robes
* Provide general accounting and financial advice to the business and speaking directly with the companies directors and managers
* Perform day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry, invoicing, account reconciliations and payroll processing with other team members
* Review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports with Directors and Management
* Manage accounts payable and receivable processes with other team members
* Day to day assistance with other Admin staff
What we're looking for
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field
* At least 2-5 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably within a small to medium-sized business
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and software
* Someone with experience using Xero software
* Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills
* Proven ability to work to deadlines and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working times
The role will require agreed hours, and may work for a person with limited day time hours during the week that would also consider out of normal business hours for personal flexibility.
