We are seeking a Planning and Assessment Officer to join a prominent Western Australian public sector entity for an initial 6-month engagement.
You will go beyond simple paperwork to analyse the "big picture" of development impacts, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the state's transport infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
Assessing and reviewing various development and subdivision applications, referrals, and general planning enquiries.
Analysing traffic and transport impacts, specifically evaluating access arrangements and network implications of new proposals.
Providing thorough responses to applicants and stakeholders (such as Local Governments) using a wide selection of research systems.
Applying planning policies and frameworks to ensure all developments align with transport network requirements.
Engaging with stakeholders, including councils, developers, and internal teams, to build and enhance professional relationships.
What You'll Bring
We are looking for a strong problem solver who understands the complexities of regional or urban planning.
Essential Requirements:
Proven research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability in building and enhancing stakeholder relationships.
A solid understanding of traffic and transport planning policies and associated systems.
Experience in an urban/regional planning background or a planning-focused civil/transport engineering role.
Desirable Qualifications:
A Diploma in Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline.
Prior work experience within the public sector
